Wednesday I went to the eye doc for contacts. He checked my eyes out, said, hey, let's try disposables. I thought, what the heck, he's giving them to me, so why not, may work. I had a rough time trying to get the out though at the doc's office; but eventually did. So I rushed home, changed clothes and went to practice. It felt so good to be able to fight again!! (and see)
I worked a little bit with Caitlin. Then fought Vincent. Cosimo then asked me to work with his two students, so I did. My arm was tired then (so was the rest of me). I was using Kaydian's sword because the guys had packed everything up, and I thought they had my sword--they didn't. I do not like his sword--too long, too whippy. But...I got to fight!!
Might go to practice tomorrow afternoon. We have a couple of house showings and need to be gone--so, that may be the place to go.
What have the rest of you been up to?

So when we went shopping Saturday we stopped by Circuit City--since they're going out of business we hoped for some spectacular deals. We should've known better. However, we found a nice deal on a Palm Z22. My Treo had died quite some time ago--the battery just gave out and wouldn't stay charged. So I finally have a "brain" again (no smart comments from anyone). With going back and forth between Madison/Oregon and the Cities, this is quite useful. I now have it updated with all sorts of things, and have learned to write the "graffitti" (sort of, mostly...). I do miss the keyboard that the Treo had, but that was part of the problem with it getting turned on all the time in my purse and running out of juice when I needed it most--or just being dead all the time. The Z22 won't do that--yeah!! I'll actually have it when I need it! Maybe I won't be as scatterbrained now, or wander aimlessly around Walmart 'cuz I forgot my list and what I was going to get :-)

Yesterday I went to the Japanese event sponsored by Tor Aerie. It was a nice relaxing event, and got to see people, play games, and just hang out. Ken came up and brought Becca along. The 4 of us went. Those two fought--and K. got so tired out he went back to the apartment to shower and ended up taking a nap. He got his second wind later when we went to Marwen's. Hagan showed up with his group of people. It was nice to get to spend some time with him, he is one of my favorite people.
B. & I went fabric shopping today (for her, not me--alas, I can't afford fabric right now). We went to Mill Ends--first time for both of us. Saw some nice silks and upholstery fabric--she got some silk.
After Ken & Becca left for home, I went to WalMart. I got another air-filtering machine that's supposed to be better than the one I have (which I'll put in my bedroom). I think it is--I can tell a difference already. It's more powerful, so filters the air quicker. Smoke keeps seeping in from the apartment below me (yuck!), and gets my asthma acting up.
Tomorrow or Tuesday I'll be talking to my boss (again), giving her the official paperwork to request telecommuting for a short term period (probably no more than 6 months). If they approve this, I'll be giving up the apartment and moving back to Oregon. I'll then be up here a few days every other week. This will help our financial situation some--and hopefully Ken gets a job soon!! We got another lead this weekend, hopefully that'll go somewhere.

For the first three people that reply to me and re-post this challenge, I will send you something.
It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash, it might be a mix CD, or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome.
Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 365 days or less.
The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR live journal - cause it's fun to give people stuff.

Yesterday I spent most of the day moving almost all my furniture in the apartment to a different spot. That was exhausting, and made me sore! But the good thing was, Ken brought me the Sleep Number bed :-) So I baked him his favorite cookies. My apartment looks totally different now--especially the second bedroom.
Chris is staying with me this week. Tomorrow we have an appointment to talk to somebody in the school district to see what school we can get him into. They have open enrollment (I believe that's what it's called) here. Hopefully we can get him a bit more excited about school this year.
I have my serger back--and working!! Now I'll feel like sewing again. It was hard to get excited about sewing when thinking of doing each seam twice--once to sew, once to finish the edges. I have lots of projects already cut out to get going on.

So, this morning I called the cab to come get me to take me to the airport so I could fly to Philadelphia. Well, as I was looking at the itinerary I realized that the dates were "wrong" (actually they were right, I was wrong). I should have flown out yesterday (Monday), but my calendar at work said today. (sigh) I think the reason I got it wrong was that the gal who makes our travel arrangements had made them wrong to begin with, and then they got changed twice, so I was confused (my story, and I'm sticking to it). So, I'm in the Cities rather than Philadelphia.
The worst part is, I may have to pay (literally) for my mistake. The airfare was totally refundable, except for the processing fee. The hotel is not refundable, and I'm not sure yet about the training fee. So, conceivably, I could be out almost $1000. That really sucks--especially since I couldn't afford Pennsic, and now this. However, I may get lucky, and the powers that be may decide to forgive me and pay it. I won't know until next week.
Then I decided to go into work. Took me three tries, kept forgetting things--like my bus pass.
I'm still taking Friday off. But now I can get some cleaning down around here during the week--and go fencing tomorrow (yea!).

I had a very nice weekend with my guys. They arrived Saturday late afternoon 'cuz they had to pack the van for WW. I'm a little disturbed though--the van doesn't seem nearly as full as it should, I'm sure they forgot something. Maybe once I stick my armor and garb in, plus other miscellaneous stuff it'll fill up to where it should.
We wandered around downtown Mpls Sunday. I tried to get into the buidling I work in, so I could show them my office, but it was locked. I thought it was open on Sundays--gonna have to ask the others how they get in. We wondered down to the jazz festival and listened for a little bit. Ate lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe--a little pricey, but yummy BBQ chicken. Ended the day at the movies to see Pirates 3. I can't believe they hadn't seen it yet! This was my second time, and I enjoyed it again :-) (A--Did we remember to mention to Mateo about how it could've been worse and he could've been shot out of a cannon and had a flying flaming monkey butt?)
Anyway, the man left late, and got home after midnight last night. He left the Moose here with me, since he won't be getting to WW 'til probably sometime Friday night. We traded vehicles too. So now I have tentage and the Moose to help with setting up the tentage. It's nice to have my Moose here--I get hugs :-)
Y'all have a Happy 4th and safe trips to WW. I'll be there Thursday evening, (gotta work 'til 2:00)

It is 91 degrees in my office today. It's been like this for a week. Our half of the building has been without a/c starting last week Thursday. We're just gonna die...only 3-1/2 hours or so to go yet today...sigh
